RILM Welcomes Hofmeister-XIX
Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM) is pleased to announce that Hofmeister-XIX, a previously under-recognized but invaluable resource documenting 19th-century music publishing, has found a new home with us.
RILM will now host and maintain the database in-house, ensuring its continued accessibility for the scholarly community. In the coming months, we will update Hofmeister-XIX and integrate it with our other online resources, enhancing its reach and utility for researchers worldwide.
Hofmeister XIX is an online, searchable version of the Hofmeister Monatsberichte (Monthly Reports) covering the years 1829–1900. Containing approximately 330,000 records of music publications, it is the most comprehensive resource for identifying what was published, where, and when during this period.
Each record links directly to facsimile images of the original Monatsberichte hosted by the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek (Austrian National Library).
